Polish analysis finds outbreaks increasing

An analysis of outbreaks in Poland has revealed an increasing trend and a high Salmonella burden.

Routine surveillance data collected by the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations (PSSE) and from infectious disease bulletins were analyzed.

Between 2021 and 2023, 2,722 foodborne outbreaks caused 20,102 cases. In total, 5,609 people were hospitalized.
